Players will be able to join one of three factions, craft various items to sell in a player-driven market and economy, and fight over territory with each other. The war system is a big part of this game, and it’s crucial to claiming territory and collecting taxes. Here’s how the war system works in New World.

Declaring War in New World

As mentioned previously, wars are crucial if you want to help your faction claim territory in Aeturnum. Once a faction gains control of a region, it’s still possible to declare war against them if you’re able to increase your own faction’s influence. You can do this by speaking with your faction NPC in that settlement and completing PvP missions.

The more PvP missions you complete, the more your influence will rise in that region. Influence is displayed on the world map with the colored bars indicating your progress. Once you have enough, you can click on the settlement in that region and choose to declare war.

Do note that if multiple companies declare war, only one will be picked and that company will be chosen to lead the war and sort out the war roster. Upon winning the war, while that territory will fall under the faction’s control, it’s the company that won the war that will become the governors of the settlement and will have the ability to set the tax rates.

The more influence you gained, the higher chance your company has of leading the war in the case of multiple declarations.

How to Sign Up for Wars in New World

Once war has been declared in New World, there will be a notice on the map screen and players will be able to sign up for the war in that settlement. Simply head over and interact with the war board to sign up, and the leading companies will choose who they want on the roster.

There will also be a set time for the war, and those who got put on the roster will be able to participate in a 50v50 battle. It’s worth noting that companies will usually pick the highest level players, so it’s definitely worth trying to get your level as high as possible if you want to get in on the action.

That’s all you need to know about how the war system works in New World. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
