While MyCareer sees you take your baller from rookie to undisputed pro, one of the most fun aspects of the mode is the ability to customize your character as much as you’d like. So that you can stand out on the court, here’s everything you need to know about how to change clothes and shoes in NBA 2K21.

As you play through MyCareer, you’ll unlocked new customization options, and can also buy cool alternatives from the Store using VC.

Head to the various shops that you’ll find when free roaming the Neighborhood to buy things. VC is also used to upgrade your baller, so be careful that you don’t spend too much on shoes that you won’t wear. All but the Black Lives Matter branded clothing will cost VC and the money might be better spent elsewhere.

How to Change Clothes & Shoes in NBA 2K21

First of all, you’re not able to change clothes or shoes until after you’ve completed the prelude portion of MyCareer, where your character will be drafted into the NBA. You’re able to skip this section entirely by selecting Neighborhood from the MyCareer menu, but it’s fun to play through.

Whether you play it or not doesn’t matter really though, with you not being able to change your player’s clothes or shoes until after it’s done.

Once you have reached that part, head to the Appearance tab in MyCareer and select Clothes. If you’re more fashion minded, you’re able to put together a few different outfits that you can switch between, but it’s easy to just replace pieces of clothing here too, for what your character wears in cutscenes and on the court.
