How to Jump For the Ball in NBA 2K19
NBA 2K19 brings back the gameplay that basketball fans anticipate every year. All the usual things you’d think you can do in the game once again make their return. You’re able to pull off alley oops, three pointers, and you can most certainly block the ball (if you pull it off). Jumping for the ball is, of course, back as well. Here’s how to jump for the ball in NBA 2K19.
This will go for both jumping for the ball when the ref throws it up, as well as if you’re trying to reach for it after it misses the basket.
To pull this off, you need to press Triangle if you’re on PS4 or Y if you’re on Xbox One. You can also use the right thumb stick in any direction in order to jump in that direction. It takes a bit of practice to get this way just right, though, so maybe use the Triangle and Y combination, instead, if you’re just starting out.
Keep in mind that your character attributes will affect how high you jump. Also, your running speed and direction. The more you push the thumbstick, the more your player will try to reach that direction. You really need to get a feel for how the bodies move in order to ensure you’re going to make contact with the ball. Also keep in mind that you’ll have a moment of slowing down (or being stunned, almost) when you first land, so don’t go around jumping all over, all willy nilly.
