How to Make a Perfect Shot in NBA 2K19

With each and every new entry in 2K’s established basketball series, fans get the usual bout of updated rosters and on-the-court improvements to ensure it offers the most immersive and enjoyable rendition of the real-life sport. NBA 2K19 actually changes things up a bit when it comes to landing a perfect shot. Rather than it coming down to animation timing – which is still an option if you can’t get used to this new system – developer Visual Concepts has brought a more accessible and easier shot gauge in NBA 2K19. Here’s what you need to know to make a perfect shot with the game’s new system.

In NBA 2K19, there’s now a shot gauge that will stand vertically next to the player you’re currently controlling. The key to getting a perfect shot is to simply hold the shot button until the meter fills right up to the top. You want to try and get it as close as you can to the top without having it go over.

It’s worth noting, however, that even if you nail a perfect shot in NBA 2K19 by perfectly filling the shot gauge, you’re not guaranteed to sink the shot. Sometimes, you’ll miss, and sometimes you’ll sink it. The same can be said if you don’t manage to nail it. You could get lucky and it’ll go in. Essentially, there are other factors that determine whether you’re going to score, regardless of whether you make a perfect shot or not.

And that’s pretty much all you need to know to make a perfect shot in NBA 2K19. Just remember, it’s not guaranteed to get you points on the board. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to check out our guide wiki.
