The Krypt is back in Mortal Kombat 11 (MK 11) and it’s the most in-depth, detailed, and perhaps, most confusing edition of the long-running game mode seen to-date in the series. You’re going to need a bunch of key items scattered around Shang Tsung’s island to open everything up. Here’s how to get to all the Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt Key item locations.
Krypt Item Locations for Mortal Kombat 11
Shao Khan’s Hammer
This is the easiest Krypt item to get in Mortal Kombat 11. Just simply walk up to the pedestal right in front of you when you spawn in and go through the first door. There you’ll see Shao Khan’s hammer, go pick it up. This Krypt item will allow you to break things like walls, destructible environments, certain chests and more. You’ll need it for the next one.
Gem of the Living
Go towards the Warrior Shrine, which is located on the west side of the map at (1000, -6321). A cutscene will play and a meteorite will crash on the large path in front of you. Smash it with Shao Khan’s hammer and you’ll receive the Gem of the Living, a Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt Item that you’ll need to progress further around the island.
Cracked Horn of the Motaro
The next major MK 11 Krypt item you’ll need is the Cracked Horn of Motaro, which is connected to the Gem of the Living you just found. Return to the Courtyard and head towards Kronika’s Time Vault (925, 3817 roughly). Near that, there is a cracked wall that you can smash with Shao Khan’s hammer. Go ahead and do that.
Then hang a hard left through another door, and then another left through another cracked wall. There should be two switches nearby for you to hit if you’re in the correct location. Inside one of these caged rooms you’ll find the Cracked Horn of the Motaro.
Return to the area where you first found the Gem of the Living and go to the big massive gate. This is where you want to use the Cracked Horn of the Motaro to enter Goro’s Lair and really start to get going on getting all of MK 11’s Krypt Items you’ll need to progress.
Kenshi Takahashi’s Blindfold
Go down into Goro’s Lair and head straight towards Goro’s Throne Room. While facing him, make a right and head to the door further to your right which should lead you towards the Jails if you’re going the right way. Follow along this pathway until you reach -6654, -12807 of the Jails (towards the bottom left part of the Krypt’s map when you check the start menu).
Before you, you’ll see the body of Kenshi Takahashi. Approach him and the gate behind you will lock but you’ll receive his blindfold. Use the blindfold (Circle/B/A) to find a hidden breakable wall that you can break with the hammer to allow you to exit the room.
Make your way back to Goro’s final resting place and this time we’re going to go through the other doorway. That’s the one on the left to find the next Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt Key item that you’ll need.
Scorpion’s Spear
Once again, face Goro in his throne room and look right, but instead, go towards the door that’s more on your left rather than the one you just went through. This path should take you to The Armory (roughly -6062, -5272). Here is where you’ll find the spear. You’ll need it to leave the room.
You can now farm hearts just by walking around the Krypt which is a nice perk. Plus, it’s needed to access certain things like fiery chests.
Ermac’s Amulet of Souls
Next, we’re going to get Ermac’s Amulet of Souls, one of the most important Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt Items you’ll need. Once again go face Goro but now you’re going to go towards the left, instead of the right. You should end up in Dining Hall. Go up the stairs and take a right to the upper level and go back down the hallway.
At the end of that hallway, you should see a path you can take at -2478, -1723. Follow it until you reach an elevator you can take. This will bring you to the lower pits.
When you arrive, head up the path to the outside. A body will drop in front of you. Go to it, and pick up its Krypt key item. Ermac’s Amulet of Souls allows you to open anything with the green glowing light using Soul Fragments that you get from winning MK 11 matches.
