Monster Hunter World: How to Play the Beta

HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND PLAY THE MONSTER HUNTER WORLD BETA

Recommended Videos

Monster Hunter’s big debut on current generation home consoles is fast approaching. Taking advantage of the powerful hardware on which it will run, Monster Hunter World is the most grandiose game ever seen in the series, with enormous wilderness environments and creatures of epic proportions. Given the popularity of the franchise, it’s little wonder that so many fans – and newcomers, for that matter – are hugely excited to get their hands on the game as quickly as possible. The good news is that if you’re a PS4 owner, you won’t have to wait until the Jan. 26 release date to try it out because there is a third and final beta running the week beforehand. From Jan.19 to Jan. 22, gamers can download and play a free beta version.

To download the beta, simply look out for it on PSN from Wednesday, Jan. 17. If you have already taken part in the earlier Monster Hunter World betas, you won’t need to redownload anything — your previous install should boot up again.

The contents of this sneak peek of the game include single-player and multiplayer game modes, though certain online features will be unavailable in the beta, such as the ability to join quests midway through, Guild Cards, removing other players from a quest, and friend invites.

There are four different quests to play in the beta, and these are as follows:

  • “The Insatiable Nergigante”
    Nergigante Hunt
    Locale: Wildspire Waste
  • “Great Devourer, Great Jagras”
    Great Jagras Hunt
    Locale: Ancient Forest
  • “Wildspire Rampage”
    Barroth Hunt
    Locale: Wildspire Waste
  • “The Ancient Forest Menace”
    Anjanath Hunt
    Locale: Ancient Forest

Those who take part in the beta will be rewarded with special items in the main game, such as face paint decorative options, and item sets, such as life potions and shock traps.

That’s everything you need to know about how to download and play the Monster Hunter World beta. For more useful information on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
