Monster Hunter World Iceborne is a big new expansion that is about to launch on Xbox One and PS4 with a PC release coming next year. So that you can jump into the new story quests and hunt the new monsters, here’s everything you need to know about what Iceborne’s preload and unlock times are.
Preload and Unlock Times for Iceborne
Iceborne is set to release on Sept. 6 for PS4 and Xbox One, and the digital version of the expansion will be available to be played at midnight Eastern Time on the day of release.
As far as preloading goes, the latest title update for Monster Hunter World has actually gone live already and is available to download on both consoles.
According to Capcom, here’s how big the file sizes are for the “preload”:
- On PlayStation 4, this will be version update 10.11, which is about 33GB, on top of version 6.02 (latest version).
- On Xbox One, it’ll be version update 10.1.0.1, which is about 31GB, in addition to version 6.0.0.2 (latest version).
This update will contain a lot of data for Iceborne so consider it an equivalent to a “Pre-Load” for the expansion.
As long as you download this title update, you should be pretty much all set to dive into the expansion once it unlocks in your region. Here’s a handy table just in case the time zones confuse you.
