In order to have access to stronger monsters and more difficult hunting quests in Monster Hunter World Iceborne, getting your master rank to a higher level is crucial if you plan on getting to the end of the game. Here’s how to increase master rank in Iceborne.
Increasing Master Rank in Monster Hunter World Iceborne
So, once you start the Iceborne expansion and begin to take on your first assigned quests via the quest board, your master rank will increase depending on the missions that you complete.
The assigned quests will have you either capturing, slaying, or repelling one of the large monsters in the game and once the quest is finished, your hunter rank will automatically increase and can only be increased by doing the assigned missions.
It works the same way as the low and high ranks found in vanilla MHW but once you finish the main story quests, the cap on your master rank will be lifted and you’ll be able to increase your rank by pretty much doing any type of quest.
Every time you get to the completion screen after a quest, you will see your experience bar and once that fills up, you will get to to the next hunter rank.
To sum things up:
- Go through the assigned quests to gradually increase your rank.
- Beat the main story and then your master rank cap will be lifted.
- Continue to complete optional quests, investigations, and other types of quests to get experience to further increase your rank.
