Monster Hunter World takes players on a brand new adventure filled with dangerous monsters and new places to discover. That said, the game comes with both new and old features, from scavenging items to swinging around the map with your slinger. Fishing also returns in this game, giving players another thing to do aside from slaying monsters. Here’s how to fish in Monster Hunter World.

Here are the basic steps to start the process in the game:

  • Find any body of water in the game.
  • Equip the fishing rod and cast it in.
  • When you get a bite, you’ll feel a rumble with your controller.
  • Press circle or B to start reeling it in.

To start wrangling, you need to find a good body of water and equip the fishing rod. Wait for your prey to take the bait. You’ll feel a rumble when this happens. As soon as you do, press Circle on PS4 or B on Xbox One to start reeling in your prey. Be quick, though, as the animal can escape your grasp if you don’t hit the Circle or B in time. Take note that you also have the option to equip different types of lure on your rod. Depending on what you use, you never know just what kind of animal you might pull up.

Aside from catching marine life, Monster Hunter World offers plenty of other activities to do. Try investing some time in the other recreational activities in the game to unlock some useful items, armor, and weapons.
