Zenny is the main currency in Monster Hunter Stories 2, and if you’re hoping to craft and upgrade equipment (which you’ll need to do in order to survive tough challenges), you’re going to need a lot of it. At the start of the game, the game gives you 1,000 Zenny to play around with, but nothing more than that.
In addition to that, you can’t earn money just from winning regular battles either, as you’d expect in your typical JRPG, which means it can be tricky to farm Zenny, especially when you need to upgrade stuff.
The best way to get Zenny fast is by doing all available side quests in the game. These will usually reward you with some sort of item, as well as a small sum of money. Side quests become available once you finish the tutorial, and you can start talking to NPCs around town with an exclamation point above their heads to accept the quest.
You can then view them in your menu by pressing the X button, and the quest screen will have information on the type of reward you can get upon completion. We definitely recommend picking up as many side quests as you can, as they’re mostly pretty easy to complete, and serve as a good source of income.
