Playing Realism Mode in Modern Warfare (2019)

Well, be prepared, because we’ve got some good and bad news for you. The good news is that the Realism rules are still present in the game. The bad news is that they’re now intrinsically tied to the ‘NVG’ mode which only rotates through the game’s ‘night maps.’

This hadn’t always been the case. Prior to update 1.06, Modern Warfare’s Realism mode was its own thing in Multiplayer.

Infinity Ward appears to have removed this, however, with the addition of the new ‘NVG’ mode. The mode’s description reads: “Night time maps with realism rules: Night vision with minimal HUD, standard health and increased headshot damage.”

Can You Play Realism on Daytime Maps?

Right now, no, it doesn’t look like you can. That being said, Infinity Ward has been rolling out patches, updates and slight tweaks pretty frequently since the game launched, so fingers crossed a new Realism playlist is added to Modern Warfare soon.

That’s everything you need to know on how to play realism mode in Modern Warfare. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to head on over to our ever-expanding Modern Warfare guide wiki, search for Twinfinite, or check out even more of our guides down below.
