Best Weapons

M4A1

You really can’t go wrong with this gun in any given situation. It has a great mid to close range while still packing a punch at further distances. Its high rate of fire makes the time to kill on this gun incredibly low.

Like most weapons in Modern Warfare, it can be switch to a semi-automatic mode to give it increased precision while fighting at a distance.

Not to mention if you pre-ordered the game you were given a variant that unlocked late level attachments for the gun, which makes it a great place to start.

HDR

The HDR sniper rifle seems to be the early favorite gun for both long-distance sniping as well as “quick scoping”. This gun is a one-shot kill if you hit the enemy anywhere from the chest or above, making it a little more forgiving when trying to line up headshots.

Its fire-rate matched with its sheer power make it easier to wield if you’re not the sharpest shot which has made players gravitate towards it.

Model 680

The Model 680 is borderline unfair in most situations. For some reason, this gun has an incredible range. I imagine it will eventually be nerfed as it just seems incredibly overpowered.

There have been plenty of matches where I get a one-shot kill on an enemy from what feels like triple the range of any other shotgun available in the game.

MP5

The classic and most iconic Call of Duty weapons, the MP5 makes its return in Modern Warfare. The SMG is an excellent all-around weapon that gets the job done.

Its steady fire-rate coupled with its pinpoint accuracy makes it a standout SMG for engagements both up close and mid-range.
