Exploring Shipwrecks

First things first. Before you can start hunting down buried treasure chests, you’ll first need a treasure map to lead you to its exact location, and these maps can be found at shipwrecks.

At the time of writing, shipwrecks have a chance of spawning in the following Minecraft biomes: Ocean, River, and Beach. The shipwrecks will be located underwater in the former two biomes, and have a chance of spawning on land if you’re in a Beach biome.

When you find a shipwreck, you have a chance of finding a map chest, treasure chest, or supplies chest. What you want is the map chest, which will come with a treasure map leading you to a buried treasure chest in the game.

Using the Treasure Map

If you manage to find a map chest, simply move the map to your inventory then equip it to check the chest’s location. This basically works just like the regular map in the game, where you can see your current position in the world from the white indicator.

The treasure map itself will also feature a red X icon, which indicates where the chest is. Just head to that location, then start digging downwards to find your buried treasure chest. Once you find it, open it up and make sure you’ve got enough inventory space to carry all that loot back.

That’s all you need to know about how to find buried treasure chests in Minecraft. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
