How to Update to 1.13 in Minecraft
Minecraft fans around the world rejoice, for version 1.13 is finally upon us, or as you may know it, the Update Aquatic. As you may have surmised from its name, update 1.13 focuses heavily on underwater content, introducing a wide range of oceanic blocks like coral, kelp and turtle eggs. If it all sounds a bit too peaceful for you, you’ll be pleased/horrified to know that the newly-added drowned mobs will be stalking your every turn in the briny deep, acting as the submerged equivalent to zombies — only much, much more frightening, because it’s scary underwater, and we all know it.
So what does it take to get involved, and get wet in Minecraft’s 1.13 update?
Updating Minecraft is normally as straightforward as starting the Minecraft launcher and following the prompts, and update 1.13 shouldn’t be any different. Sometimes, however, your program will feel a little grouchy if you haven’t used it in a while. If you’re having any issues in updating your game, upon opening the launcher, select Options, located next to the username textbox. Access the Launcher Options window, and select Force Update.
You may have to reenter your login details, but otherwise this should be enough to get you up to date with the latest version. If you’re having trouble logging in, make sure that you have entered your details correctly, and these details have completely escaped your memory, follow the prompts to reset your password.
Once all of this has been taken care of and your game has been updated to the Update Aquatic, you should be able to access all of the new goodies that are at your disposal. Just make sure to keep both eyes open as you’re exploring down there, lest you be captured by sinister beasts. How long can you hold your breath? Guess we’ll find out…. Happy hunting!
