Metroid Samus Returns: How to Get the Fusion Suit

How to Get the Fusion Suit in Metroid: Samus Returns

Recommended Videos

Metroid: Samus Returns finally brings back everyone’s favorite bounty hunter, with all the gadgets and suits you’d expect. The game does hold a couple bonuses for longtime fans, including an unlockable Fusion Mode that boosts up the difficulty even more and gives Samus the Fusion Suit from Metroid Fusion.

The bad news here, however, is that there’s only one way to get access to the Fusion Suit and Fusion Mode. To do so you’ll need to have purchased the amiibo two-pack for Metroid: Samus Returns, that includes the crouching Samus and Metroid figures. Fusion Mode can only be unlocked with the Metroid amiibo unfortunately, and it comes as a game completion reward. This means that you’ll first have to beat the game normally, as well as use the Metroid figure to unlock the mode and suit.

The instant use for the Metroid amiibo on the other hand, will do a scan of the map and show you any nearby Metroids. The Samus amiibo can be used to unlock an exclusive gallery of Metroid II art, while its instant use will grant you a one-time bonus of an extra Energy Tank.

Considering the amiibo are incredibly hard to find at this point, it’s unfortunately that there isn’t another way to unlock Fusion Mode, but we’ll make sure to update you if anything changes on that.

More on Metroid: Samus Returns

Metroid: Samus Returns is a full-blown remake of Metroid II on the original Game Boy. While the story stays largely the same the game sports a brand new 2.5D graphical style, along with a number of gameplay enhancements.
