Metro Exodus takes players back to post-apocalypse Russia, slogging through the dark Metro tunnels, while also exploring the nuclear-blasted surface. Of course, there are plenty of dark environment you’ll be exploring in the game, which means you’ll be making liberal use of your flashlight. Here’s how to recharge the flashlight in Metro Exodus.

While much of your time is spent on the surface in Metro Exodus, you’ll still be exploring lots of tight underground corridors.

On top of this, the new dynamic day-night cycle means your vision can be lacking even out in the open. By pressing left on the D-Pad you’ll make Artyom pull out his flashlight, helping you see better.

As you keep the flashlight out you’ll notice it getting dimmer and dimmer, until eventually, it can go out entirely.

The light will last a good 15 minutes or so, but you’ll want to recharge it every now and again to keep it as bright as possible. Luckily, it’s easy enough to do so.

To recharge the flashlight, just hold down left on the D-Pad until Artyom brings up the charger. Pressing R2 (RT) will make him recharge it, and you’ll need to pump the trigger until the flashlight is fully charged, moving the needle all the way to the right on the gauge.

Just be aware of where you’re using the flashlight and recharging it. Enemies can easily spot your light, alerting their allies and bringing a whole bunch of bullets down on you. Just make sure to flick it on and off whenever you need to, as there’s no limit on using and recharging your flashlight.

That’s everything you need to know about how to recharge the flashlight in Metro Exodus. For even more tips, tricks, and guides make sure to search Twinfinite and check out our extensive wiki guide.
