Metal Gear Survive: How to Craft

How to Craft in Metal Gear Survive

Recommended Videos

Metal Gear Survive shifts the series’ focus from sneaking to survival, as the name would imply. The game takes place in an alternate timeline of the series, where the remnants of Mother Base have been transported to a world infested with crystalline zombies. There’s a lot of different items to craft in the game, everything from weapons and traps to restorative items, so here’s what you need to do to get crafting and filling out your inventory.

Crafting itself is easy, just head to the right side of the big lobby that you’re initially dropped into, also known as the Staging Area, and you’ll see various different workbenches. You can also head back to the ruins of your base and craft there.

These are things like Weapons Workbench, Gear Workbench, Gadgets Workbench, Campfire and Construction Terminal. As you might expect, the weapons one is for creating weapons, gadgets will help you craft different items and traps to use, the campfire lets you cook meals, and the construction terminal helps you build different facilities at your base to upgrade and strengthen it. All the various workbenches have different uses, and for each one you’re going to need quite a few resources for crafting.

Basic resources can be gained from locations around the world, for example breaking wooden boxes will get you wood and nails while breaking metal tins can get you metal. Search each and every area and building in Metal Gear Survive as you’re going to want as many resources as possible. Tinkering around with the resources you’ve collected and learning new crafting recipes is going to be essential, as crafting really is a big aspect of Metal Gear Survive.

Once you’ve acquired the crafting materials you need, return to the workbench for your desired item, select it, and press X on PS4 or A on Xbox One to confirm you want to craft it. And that’s all there is to it.
