Getting Halo Reach in Master Chief Collection

With Master Chief Collection only just releasing on PC today, the way you get Halo Reach varies depending on whether or not you’re on PC or Xbox One. We’ve broken down the steps and methods you’ll need to take for each console down below.

Xbox One

For the Xbox One, you’ve got a few options. If you’ve already got a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, you can buy the Halo: Reach Campaign, as well as the Firefight mode, for $9.99 as part of an add-on listed on the Xbox Store.

Alternatively, you can purchase the entire collection for $39.99 from the Microsoft Store, or sign up to Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and download it as part of the service’s library.

As long as you choose any of the above options, you should then see a download/ update begin for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Let it finish, boot it up, and Halo Reach will be waiting for you to check out.

PC

If you’re wanting to play Halo Reach on PC, you’ll have one of two options to choose from.

The first is to simply buy Halo: The Master Chief Collection from either the Microsoft Store or Steam for $39.99. This way you get Halo Reach, as well as the remaining games in the collection when they get their reworked releases next year.

Alternatively, subscribers to Xbox Game Pass for PC / Game Pass Ultimate can download the entire Master Chief Collection free of charge via the service. This will also update with the other games releasing next year as and when they drop.

Again, once you’ve made your decision, simply let the downloads for The Master Chief Collection complete, boot it up, and you should be able to dive right into Halo Reach.
