How to Use Augmentations in Mass Effect: Andromeda

Recommended Videos

Augmentations function as mods in Mass Effect: Andromeda, and they can be used to give your weapons and armor a serious boost in combat. There are three types of augmentations in the game: Milky Way, Heleus, and Remnant. Most augmentations can only be acquired through research after you’ve gotten the blueprints for them, and you can use them when developing new pieces of gear.

To research an augmentation, simply go to a research and development kiosk and craft it from there. When you want to use it on a piece of weapon or armor, go to the development menu and select the augmentation before actually crafting the weapon. The important thing to note about each augmentation is that they can only be obtained and used once. This means that you can’t have multiple of the same augmentation equipped across different types of weapons. If you want to put the augmentation on another piece of gear, you’ll have to dismantle the weapon or armor that you’ve equipped it with in order to get it back. From there, you can develop new equipment and repeat the process again.
