Once you’ve cleared Eden Prime and have become a Spectre, you’ll have full control over the Normandy and you can explore any planet cluster you wish. There are tons of systems and clusters out there, and some of them are home to side quests that are easily missed, as well as other secrets and points of interest.

What to Do With the Mysterious Globe in Mass Effect 1

If you happen to be exploring the planet Eletania in the Hercules system, which is located in the Attican Beta cluster, you’ll find a mysterious globe at the southern edge of the map. And if you examine it, it’ll say that you need a key to unlock its secrets.

The mysterious globe doesn’t offer any more clues, but if you’ve been diligent about doing your side quests up to this point, it’s possible that you might already have the key on you.

Getting the Mysterious Globe Key

To get the key, you first need to speak with the Asari consort, Sha’ira, who’s located at the Presidium in the Citadel. Accept her quest and talk to General Septimus, then accept his quest and agree to talk to the Elcor ambassador in the Presidium. After doing so, talk to Sha’ira again to complete the quest, and she’ll reward you with a trinket.

This trinket serves as the key to unlocking the secret of the mysterious globe, so head back to Eletania. We won’t spoil what the secret is, but it essentially offers up more lore and story tidbits about the Protheans and the world in general. There’s no consequence for missing this quest, and it simply adds more flavor to the story of Mass Effect.
