Marvel’s Avengers features six playable heroes, which are unlocked during its single-player campaign. From there, players are able to choose a hero and take them into the multiplayer Initiative Mode to level up their characters in co-operative missions. But can you switch characters during a mission in Marvel’s Avengers? Here’s what you need to know.
Can You Switch Marvel’s Avengers Characters In a Mission?
While you’ll certainly battle alongside other superheroes in both the campaign and the Initiative, there’s never a moment where you actually get to switch between heroes mid-mission at the press of a button.
The only time any switching ever occurs is during the single-player campaign as part of a story set piece, like, say, the very start of the game when you’re given a chance to experience all the game’s characters. But just as it is then, the story sequences that do have you change heroes aren’t under your direct control.
There’s also no opportunity to switch characters during co-operative play in the Initiative, either. Once you pick a hero at the very start, that’s it — you’ll be working towards progressing that character exclusively. It’s only once you return to the menus to embark on a different mission that you can choose a different hero.
Whether or not Crystal Dynamics ever implements a feature that allows you to switch characters remains to be seen. It hasn’t mentioned anything yet that we’ve seen.
That’s everything you should need to know about whether it’s possible to switch characters in a Marvel’s Avengers mission. For more useful tips and information on the game, be sure to check out Twinfinite’s extensive guide wiki.
