Marvel’s Avengers Game: Is It Cross-Play Compatible? Answered

Marvel's Avengers, cross-platform, cross-play

While Marvel’s Avengers’ 12 or so hour single-player campaign is surprisingly decent, the game’s main focus is really its co-operative multiplayer mode. This is the area of the game that’s to receive frequent updates moving forward, including new missions and expansions, all playable with friends online. But does Marvel’s Avengers feature cross-play? Is Marvel’s Avengers Game Cross-Platform Compatible?

Unfortunately, those looking forward to playing with their buddies across different platforms will be disappointed to learn that Marvel’s Avengers doesn’t feature cross-play. Only those playing on the same platforms will be able to play together.

It’s a breaking of the mold from other recent AAA multiplayer games, with the feature becoming somewhat of a staple ever since Fortnite paved the way back in 2018. Popular franchises like Call of Duty, No Man’s Sky, Rocket League, and Dead by Daylight have all followed suit.

Of course, even though Square Enix hasn’t alluded to any changes to that policy moving forward, there’s still a possibility Marvel’s Avengers could be made cross-platform compatible in the future. The publisher is planning long post-launch support of the game in a live service style, and we’ve seen other games retrofitted with cross-play functionality before in updates. We’ll keep you posted if we hear of anything changing.

For now, though, that should give you everything you need to know about whether Marvel’s Avengers is cross-play and cross-platform compatible. For now, more useful tips and information on the game can be found in Twinfinite’s extensive guide wiki.
