How to Beat the Rabbid Kong Boss in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Recommended Videos

Rabbid Kong is the main boss of the first world, Ancient Greens, and also the second boss you’ll face in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. This fight isn’t too tough, but I recommend unlocking the Heal technique for Rabbid Peach before going in.

At the start of the fight, Rabbid Kong will perform a map-wide attack that hits everyone (including enemies) for 10 damage each, while also knocking you back and damaging cover objects. During this first phase, your goal is to take out all of the enemies before engaging Rabbid Kong. This shouldn’t be too tough, as the boss will focus on eating his bananas while occasionally performing the map-wide attack. After you’ve cleared the area, heal up if you can, and then have one of your characters step on the banana tile in front of Rabbid Kong.

After stepping on the tile, all of the bananas will be dumped into the trash, and Rabbid Kong will get upset. You now have one turn to deal 120 damage to him and force the fight into the next phase. If you’re unable to deal 120 damage in that turn, Rabbid Kong will attack the character on the banana tile, dealing 50 damage. This will continue until you’ve done a total of 120 damage to him.

In the next phase, Rabbid Kong will jump to another banana tile and repeat the whole process again. More regular enemies will show up as well. This phase isn’t too different from the first one, so just make sure to heal up whenever you can, and take out the enemies before engaging Rabbid Kong again.

In the last phase, a Smasher will be summoned to the fight. Take out the Smasher as quickly as you can, and make sure not to clump your characters together in case he reaches you. This is the toughest phase, as most of the cover objects would’ve been destroyed by now, allowing the Smasher to make his way to you easily. If you have Luigi in your team, he’ll be able to use his technique to snipe the Smasher from afar. After taking it out, simply step on the banana tile again, and start damaging Rabbid Kong. Mario’s Hero Sight technique comes in very handy here, as he’ll be able to deal an extra 25 damage during this turn.

Overall, this fight isn’t too difficult as long as you have the Heal technique for Rabbid Peach. Just focus on all the mobs before fighting Rabbid Kong, use Hero Sight, heal up when you can, and you’ll be fine.
