Just when the other team thought they were gonna get an easy three points a lineman breaks through the line or a nimble corner bursts off the edge and swats that ball down. Here’s everything you need to know about how to block a field goal in Madden 22.
How to Block a Field Goal in Madden 22
That’s a pretty nice 10 point swing if you can return a blocked field goal for a touchdown. But we may be getting ahead of ourselves a bit here. Before you can even think about rumbling a block all the way down the field for a score, you need to know how to do the block.
There’s no doubt that perfecting the field goal block in Madden 22 will take some practice. The most important skill that you need to get down first is just timing your rush. You need to hone your reaction time in order to get off the line fast enough in order to make a successful block.
If you break through the line and you have a clear path for a block, then don’t waste it. Short field goals and PATs are best blocked by jumping since the kicker usually likes to get more air under these short kicks. You can press Y (Xbox) or Triangle (PS) to jump.
If it’s a long field goal, then the kicker is more likely to hit it at a lower angle with more speed than a short kick. This means you’ll want to dive with X (Xbox) or Square (PS). Just be careful to not run into the kicker when you’re doing this or else you’ll give the other team a free first down.
