Just in time for the start of the new football season, the latest version of Madden 19 is here. There are a number of updates to gameplay mechanics and visuals, as well as the next installment of the cinematic single-player campaign, Longshot. As per usual, the roster of players has been updated and the ratings adjusted for the new season. For that reason, you’re likely wondering what rating some the best-known players have in Madden 19. Rookie Running Back Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants is one such player, so here’s everything you need to know about his rating.

Saquon Barkley has a rating of 82 in Madden 19. EA explain the rating of Barkley:

“A legit draft stud, Barkley is a quality runner that immediately adds another level of offensive depth to a team that sorely needed it. Coming into the NFL with an 82 OVR, a solid score for a rookie, his base ratings make him an excellent runner for players with adequate stick skills. Barkley sports a 92 Speed, and a 93 Acceleration. His ball carrying moves include an 83 Trucking, 83 Stiff Arm, 86 Spin, and a 91 Juke. He’s a pure rusher with his less than stellar Route Running scores, but he can quickly become a community favorite for players looking for a well-balanced rusher.”

Notably, Saquon Barkley has the highest Madden 19 rating among all running backs in his draft class. The only rookie with a higher overall rating than Saquon Barkley was former Notre Dame guard Quenton Nelson, who received an 83.

EA’s Madden 19 hit store shelves on August 9 across PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This should give you everything you need to know about what Saquon Barkley’s rating is in the game and the reasons behind it.
