Madden 17 Franchise: How to Relocate Your Team

As an owner in Madden 17’s franchise mode, managing your team’s finances is an important part of the your success in addition to how the team plays on the field. It’s easy to get knee deep in stuff such as managing media relations, setting ticket prices, and even tweaking the price of potato chips. Seriously. Or you can just ignore it all and focus on the games.

However, one very important tool you have at your disposal as an owner that is actually quite hidden away in Madden 17’s Franchise mode is relocation. In case you missed the LA/St. Louis drama that unfolded last year, relocating your team involves picking up your team and moving it to a new city and stadium with a new nickname too.

To relocate in Madden 17, first you need to move to the My Owner section of the Franchise menu (in manage). Then, within that, go to stadium and then relocate. From there you can see the quality of your stadium and begin the relocation process. Note that you may need to be playing a team that has a bad stadium condition in order to pull off the relocation. We suggest starting with the Chargers or the Raiders, two teams that currently have the worst stadium situations right now in the NFL.

Once you start the process, it takes a couple of weeks to determine whether or not you’ll be able to relocate. It is possible that you’ll have to try again at a later time. If you’re really desperate to relocate, you can sim forward a couple of years and let things deteriorate further until you can. Be sure that once you start the process though that you sim week by week, and keep checking the Things to Do section to begin the relocation if it’s available other you may miss your chance and have to wait again.

Once you begin, you’ll pick from a number of different potential cities. Interestingly enough LA is still there. There are a bunch of major cities from around the world to choose from. From there you’ll eventually settle on a team name, and then eventually uniform schemes. Finish up that process and at the start of the next season, you’ll officially be your new team, treating a starving city to NFL football and torturing your old fans.

That does it for how to relocate in Madden 17’s Franchise mode. If there’s something that still unclear, shoot us a comment and we can see if we can help you out.
