Making sure your progress is saved is very important in Luigi’s Mansion 3 as there are tons of collectibles scattered about the multiple floors of the hotel and if you turn your game off without recording your progress, you might have to repeat steps over again.

Luckily, saving in Luigi’s Mansion 3 is done automatically and quite frequently as a matter of fact. If you hang out in a room for a couple of seconds and then leave, for example, the game will automatically record your progress.

It will also auto-save if you go in the elevator and go to a different floor or if you go inside Professor E. Gadd’s laboratory in the basement.

You’ll know that the game is saving because it will pop up on the bottom right side of the screen with a “now saving” message.

You can also load up a different file by going into the menu and then pressing “return to the title screen.” You will be able to have up to three save files per Switch account.
