Lost Ark: How to Get & Upgrade Skills

Lost Ark skills

If you’re going to have any chance of stopping the demon Kazeros from succeeding in his quest of vengeance, you’ll need to make sure your character’s combat skills are second-to-none. The best way to do this is to ensure that you’re using and upgrading skills as you unlock them through the game. In this guide, we’ll explain both how to get skills and how to upgrade them in Lost Ark, so you can take on any challenge the game throws at you.

How to Get Skills

New skills will automatically unlock as you level up in Lost Ark. When you do, you can press ‘K’ to open the Skills menu and then simply drag the skill that you want to equip and drop it into your Hotbar. It can then be used by pressing the corresponding key.

You can see the level at which skills will unlock by the red crossed swords icon just to the right of them. The level at which they’re unlocked is noted just beneath these, as shown in the screenshot above.

Upgrading Skills in Lost Ark

Upgrading your existing skills is done through Skill Points which are earned by leveling up. Every time you level up, you’ll receive five skill points.

Press K to open up the ‘Skills’ screen and then press the ‘+’ sign next to whichever skill you want to upgrade.

By doing this, you can make your Skills far more effective in combat, in turn improving your character’s effectiveness in combat.

It’s also worth noting that you can respec your character at any time by removing Skill Points you’ve previously invested in certain skills. To do this, simply press the ‘-‘ next to the skill on the ‘Skills’ screen.

This will refund the skill points back to you, so you can invest them in another skill altogether. Even better, there’s no cost for doing this!
