Getting through the Ancient Ruins and fighting the boss will lead Link to discover an ancient mural with the Wind Fish on it that uncovers a huge secret of Koholint Island.

But, before you can read it, you’re going to need to defeat the Armos Knight that blocks the way.

Your regular sword attacks will not do any damage to the knight and none of your items will have any effect as well. The only way to inflict damage from the get-go is by charging your spin attack and hitting him from the side or from the back.

The more you hit him, the more his shield will disintegrate, allowing you to attack him with your sword or even the bow and arrow.

Make sure to also use the Roc’s Feather to jump when he slams on the ground, or else Link will be stunned for a few seconds, leaving him open to attack.

Once you remove his armor, this fight is essentially a walk in the park.

To sum things up:

  1. Head to the ancient ruins and make your way through the maze.

  2. Go inside the shrine and break the pots to get some arrows.

  3. Once you start the fight, use charged up sword attacks to damage the Armos Knight.

  4. Once you destroy his hard armor, you can use your bow and arrow to deal damage or just use your sword.
