You’re going to need to glide in LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga in order to reach some collectibles like Kyber Bricks and Minikits. The gliding ability isn’t available to all character classes, though, so in this guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know to soar through the skies.

Unlocking the Glider with Scavenger Abilities

To glide, you’ll first need to unlock the Scavenger Abilities in Episode VII, The Force Awakens. Progress through this episode until you reach the ‘Scrap for Scraps’ mission, where you’ll be controlling Rey and BB-8.

Here, you’ll need to collect 20 pieces of Scrap scattered throughout the wreckage of the Star Destroyer.

As you’re collecting these, Rey will stop to build each of the Scavenger abilities at little workbenches. The second one you’ll build is the Glider. Gather all 20 pieces of Scrap and then take them to Unkar Plutt to complete this mission and the tutorial, unlocking the Glider for use whenever you need it.

Using the Glider in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

When controlling a Scavenger character, press and hold B/ Circle/ A to bring up the ‘Tool menu.’ Select the Glider — it’s the middle option — and press A/ X/ B to confirm your choice.

Now walk over to where you want to use the Glider and press the button shown by the on-screen prompt to glide your way across.

All Characters That Can Use the Glider

Once the tutorial has been completed, the Glider can be used with any of the following characters once unlocked:

  • Scavenger Rey
  • Rey
  • Chief Chirpa
  • Jawa
  • Logray
  • Paploo
  • Teebo
  • Teedo
  • Tusken Raider
  • Wicket
