Unlocking Last of Us 2’s New Game Plus

As you might have expected, you’ll need to beat The Last of Us 2 on any difficulty to unlock the new game plus mode. After the credits have played out, you should then be notified that you’ve unlocked the new mode.

After completing the game and unlocking new game plus, you should then see the option to start new game plus from the main menu in the game. Simply select this and you’re ready to start Ellie’s adventure all over again.

What Carries Over In New Game Plus & What’s Different?

New game plus allows you to carry over all of your progress from your first playthrough. This means all of your upgrades, supplements, weapon parts and collectibles will carry over.

New Game Plus will also make things marginally more difficult than your first playthrough to help level the playing field.
