Should You Help Riku or Mickey in Kingdom Hearts 3?

Kingdom Hearts 3 is the climactic finale to everything the series has been building, pitting Sora and the other heroes against the villainous Master Xehanort. As you might imagine, there’s a lot to unpack in the final act of the game, and some epic showdowns. We’ll help answer the question, should you help Riku or Mickey in Kingdom Hearts 3?

*Spoiler warning* As you might imagine, we’re going to be covering some of the events near the end of KH3. If you don’t want anything spoiled, it might be best to stop now, but we’ll try and keep everything as light on spoilers as possible.

The final act of Kingdom Hearts 3 is a climactic one, as the Guardians of Light head to the Keyblade Graveyard to do battle with Xehanort and his Seekers of Darkness. At some point, all of the heroes will split up and Sora will have to go help all of them, one-by-one.

When you start this segment, the game presents you with a choice, go down the left path and help Riku in his fight, or head down the right and help King Mickey. It may seem like this choice is important in some way, like you’re prioritizing a character, and you are really.

However, ultimately this choice doesn’t mean anything, as after you help one you’ll go right to the next battle and help the other. Don’t worry about missing out on anything either, as you’ll get the exact same cutscenes and story segments.

Once you’ve helped both Riku and Mickey, Sora will be off to assist the other Guardians of Light.

Hopefully that answers should you help Riku or Mickey in Kingdom Hearts 3? For even more tips and guides make sure to search Twinfinite, or check out our ever-expanding Kingdom Hearts 3 wiki.

TLDR;

Question: Should you help Riku or Mickey in Kingdom Hearts 3?

Answer: In the Keyblade graveyard, you’ll seemingly get a choice to go help Mickey or Riku in a fight. In truth, however, this choice doesn’t really matter at all, as you’ll end up helping both of them, and get the exact same cutscenes, no matter what you do.
