How to Get Glide in Kingdom Hearts 2

With Kingdom Hearts 3 right around the corner, you might be making your way through Kingdom Hearts 2 for the first time, or perhaps replaying it in preparation. Here’s how to get Glide in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Depending on where you are in Kingdom Hearts 2, the Glide ability might not even be in reach. That’s because in order to get Glide, you must have the capability to use Sora’s Final Form.

The Final Form of Sora is a random form that he will sometimes go into after using one of his three other forms in Kingdom Hearts 2. Those three forms are Valor, Wisdom and Master.

There are other forms that Sora can take on, such as Anti-Form, but for now, let’s focus on the three basic ones.

When playing as Sora in his standard form, you are using his Limit Form. By powering up the Drive Gauge, Sora can enter either the Valor, Wisdom or Master form by choice.

Once in these forms, and once they’re strong enough, he will sometimes randomly enter the Final Form.

You can’t, however, trigger Sora’s Final Form without first having completed the Dive to the Heart section of the world known as The World That Never Was.

Dive to the Heart is simply an oddly-named location within The World That Never Was. This section of the game will see you making your way through the Memory Skyscraper, which you can see below.

After completing this part of the The World That Never Was, you will gain access to Sora’s Final Form. With that out of the way, it’s time to work towards obtaining Glide in Kingdom Hearts 2.

The first thing you must do is find a good place to farm nobody kills. We recommend either The World That Never Was or the Coliseum.

Regardless of where you choose to go, you need to enter Final Form once there. To do this, find a place you can easily enter in and out of.

This is because you will need to enter a room and enter one of Sora’s three Drive Forms. Basically, just hope that when you enter a Drive Form, it randomly transforms Sora into his Final Form. The figure below is a great example of what his Final Form looks like.

If it happens, you’re set. If not, keep entering, using a form, exiting and repeating until you get the Final Form.

Once you’ve entered Final Form in Kingdom Hearts 2, take out as many nobodies as possible until your Drive Gauge reaches one. After that, get your Drive Gauge back up and repeat these steps an additional one or two times.

When you first level up Sora’s Final Form, he will gain a new ability that’s pretty standard. The second time you level up, though, he’ll get the Glide ability. Equip the ability from the main menu.

How to Equip Glide in Kingdom Hearts 2

To equip glide in Kingdom Hearts 2 follow the below steps:

  • Go to the menu by pressing the touchpad on PS4, or the start button equivalent on your emulator.
  • Select Abilities.
  • Go to Sora.
  • Find Glide and press X to equip it.

Now, you’re free to glide around like the Peter Pan you are when in Final Form.

If you want to use Glide while in the standard Limit Form, you’re going to need to max out the Final Form. To do this, continue the steps above until you reach max level.

After that, you’ll be able to equip the Glide ability to Limit Form Sora which allows you to glide whenever you want.

Kingdom Hearts 3 went gold last year and it’s finally coming out in just a few weeks on Jan. 29.

That’s all you need to know on how to get glide in Kingdom Hearts 2. Be sure to keep your eyes on Twinfinite for tips, tricks, walkthroughs and more when the game releases.

TLDR;

Question: How do you get glide in Kingdom Hearts 2?

Answer: You’ll first need to reach the point in the game where you can enter Sora’s Final Form. To do this, you’ll need to farm Nobody kills a few times in an area like the Coliseum or The World That Never Was. Wait until Sora randomly transforms into his Final Form. Once this is done, you can unlock Glide from Sora’s Abilities menu within the game’s main menu.
