At the start of the level, May and Cody get two new attacks to help them deal with all of the plants in the Garden.

For Cody, he can now use his hair to latch certain objects down with his Whip attack. All he has to do is line up his view to hover over the appropriate reticle and press RT on Xbox or R2 on PlayStation. This will whip his hair toward it and hold it in place.

While Cody is doing this, May can attack whatever is being held down with her sickle. She just needs to approach it and press RT on Xbox or R2 on PlayStation.

As its name suggests, the Burrower will spend a lot of this time trying to damage you from underground, moving similarly to a shark on land. When it does pop up from below, it will start firing little bombs that explode upon impact when they hit the ground.

As it is doing this, though, Cody will have an opportunity to whip it and hold it in place. When he does, May is able to run over and take out about a third of his health on the first go around.

After this, additional enemies will spawn, so you’ll need to defeat them while also avoiding the Burrower’s attacks. Eventually, you’ll have Cody hold him in place and May can once again attack.

You’ll repeat this process about two or three more times, and then the Burrower will have been defeated.

And that is just about everything you need to know about how to beat the Burrower in It Takes Two. If you’re still looking for more info on the game, head over to our guide wiki, or check out more of our coverage below.
