The Plants vs. Zombies franchise is one of the few kid-friendly pieces of zombie media, so of course it would win the hearts (and brains) of many gamers, including those who want to introduce their children to the wide world of brain-munchers. Moreover, EA is dead set on porting the series to as many platforms as possible.
The latest game in the PvZ franchise, Battle for Neighborville, is yet another entry in the popular, console-based Garden Warfare spinoff that trades tower defense strategy for third-person shooting multiplayer.
However, unlike mainline Plants vs. Zombies, Garden Warfare has stuck to the Xbox and PlayStation lines of consoles, as well as PC. Not one entry shambled onto Nintendo’s platforms, even though the original Plants vs. Zombies was ported to the Nintendo DS. Given the popularity of the Switch, you’ll probably wonder if PvZ: Battle for Neighborville will come to the Nintendo Switch.
Is PvZ: Battle for Neighborville coming to Nintendo Switch?
The short answer is no; the longer answer is not yet and possibly never.
Currently, EA has no plans to release PvZ: Battle for Neighborville on the Nintendo Switch. While those plans could change, odds are they won’t since EA seems adamant on not releasing games on the console.
So far, FIFA 18-20, Fe, and Unravel Two are the only EA games available on the Switch. This news is disappointing for Nintendo fans, as EA used to support Nintendo with a bevy of titles, some of which were designed specifically for its consoles. Even the Wii U, which didn’t see many EA games, received a port of Mass Effect 3.
EA could change direction and port more games to the Switch in the future. However, as of writing this guide, the majority of its library, including PvZ: Battle for Neighborville, is not available on the console, and that probably won’t change anytime soon.
At the moment, no, EA has no plans to port the game over to the Switch.
