Is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Coming to Xbox One?

Update: Since the original date this was posted, Bluehold Studio confirmed that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) would release on the Xbox One in late 2017, before releasing on the PS4. A more specific release date hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as and when we hear more.

With PC players dropping onto an island and murdering each other in their hundreds of thousands in PUBG, it should come as no surprise that Xbox One owners have been wondering if they’ll be able to jump into the action.

Well, there’s some good news on that front. When speaking to Inven (via WWG), Bluehole Studio’s producer Changhan Kim confirmed that the game is coming to both the Xbox One and PS4. Unfortunately, Kim didn’t provide any timeline as to when we can expect PUBG to appear on either console. However, we do know that PUBG will come to the Xbox One’s preview program before being developed for PS4.

While this is certainly exciting news, don’t expect to play the game in the next couple of months on your console. The game is still only in early access on Steam and is only due a full release on the platform in September. As such, it’s likely that the team at Bluehold Studio won’t start work on the console ports until the game’s full release is running smoothly on PC.

As soon as we have any confirmed news regarding PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Xbox One release date, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.
