Is Geto Dead in Jujutsu Kaisen? Answered

During the showdown between Suguru Geto and Yuta Okkotsu in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Geto sustains a life-threatening injury that forces him to crawl away from Tokyo Jujutsu High. But, while he strategies in his next plan, he encounters his old best friend, Satoru Gojo.

The two begin to talk about the recent events and reminisce about their time together in their youth. Then, by the end of their conversation, Gojo ultimately kills Geto to put him out of his misery. As an audience, we don’t see this occurrence take place, but you can hear the subtle sound of Satoru executing him in the final moments.

How Is Geto Alive After Jujutsu Kaisen 0?

According to Chapter 90 in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, the sorcerer, Kenjaku, possesses Suguru Geto’s dead body using a brain-switching curse technique. With this ability, he can use Geto’s Cursed Spirit Manipulation, which allows him to control any curses he absorbs.

Suguru’s body isn’t the first vessel that Kenjaku has taken control of since he has been doing this technique for over a hundred years. For example, he had previously possessed Noritoshi Kamo and gained a bad reputation for his inhumane experiments, including the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings. In addition, another chapter reveals how Kenjaku took over Yuji Itadori’s mother, where you can see the same scar that is on Geto’s head, as shown here:

As a result, several characters in Chapter 134 have indicated that Kenjaku is “the evilest sorcerer in history” because of his heinous acts. Currently, there isn’t an exact reason why he does these experiments; the only concrete information we know is that he strongly believes in using cursed energy to advance human evolution.
