Aliens: Fireteam Elite is finally here and while it may not be the perfect organism fans were hoping for, it’s still a blast teaming up with friends and taking down waves upon waves of pesky xenomorphs that want to eat your face off. But what if the friend you want to team up with is on another console? Will you still be able to play together? In this guide, we’ll answer the all-important question: is Aliens: Fireteam Elite cross-platform? Let’s get into it!
Is Aliens: Fireteam Elite Cross-Platform? Answered
Unfortunately, no, Aliens: Fireteam Elite does not have full cross-platform play. As a result, a player on Xbox won’t be able to play the game with a friend on PlayStation, for example, and vice-versa.
However, the title does have cross-generational support, so a player on PlayStation 4 will be able to play the game with a friend on PlayStation 5, and a player on Xbox One will be able to play with a friend on Xbox Series X|S.
PC players, on the other hand, won’t be able to play with friends on either Xbox or PlayStation consoles.
Of course, this is rather disappointing if you have friends on other platforms that you want to play with.
Hopefully, Cold Iron Studios can potentially add some sort of cross-platform support in the future via a software update, however, that’s not been confirmed as of yet.
If that does happen, we’ll make sure to update this article accordingly.
