If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, then consider any time you have any active meal effects to be breakfast in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. First off, you’ll need to know if the party has recently eaten a meal or not before deciding to have your chef Nopon, Manana, make more food for the team. Since meal effects don’t stack, eating before the benefits of a dish expire makes those bonuses go away. Unless the same meal is being eaten, then it’ll just be like resetting the timer, which is still a waste.

To view if the party has active effects from a meal, it’s as easy as looking to the upper right corner of the screen. The HUD has an icon with a fork and knife in an orange circular meter. The more full the meter is, the more time is left on the current meal effects. The exact time and name of the meal can be seen when the pause menu is brought up with the X button.

The main way that you’ll be able to view these bonuses is by going to the pause menu by pressing X. Then navigate to Party Skills, then press the R button to get to the Meal Effects screen.

Here’s another, more involved option for seeing which bonuses your team is getting. Go back to a rest spot and bring up the meal options. There you’ll be able to see what the effects of the active meal are. It’s a bit more of a trek but might be more convenient if you’re already at a Rest Spot.

That’s all there is to know about how to view active meal effects in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Even though the information isn’t instantly accessible without going into a menu, at least the cooking bonuses aren’t anything huge stat-wise. They all only increase item drops, class point (CP) gain, EXP gain, and gold drops.
