Modern Warfare 2’s weapon collection has many locked items that players won’t be able to use in the game’s early stages. The only way to obtain these exclusive weapons and equipment is by leveling up in Rank Progression or Weapon Progression. In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock the TAQ-56 to expand the list of guns in the Assault Rifle category.

Players can unlock the TAQ-56 Assault Rifle in Modern Warfare 2 when they reach Rank 19, which also gives them the Decoy Grenade. This particular gun features a high fire rate and combat flexibility, similar to the fan-favorite M4 Assault Rifle. If you look at TAQ-56’s Weapon Progression, you can keep track of the gun’s progress, including details about its attachments.

Each Modification can be unlocked through certain levels (with the weapon), where players must use the gun in various game modes. The beginning stages may be challenging since you won’t have access to these attachments, but you will eventually get these items in the future. In particular, when you reach Level 7 in Weapon Progression, you can acquire the 40 Round Mag to increase your ammo capacity.

As time progresses, players can unlock more variations of the TAQ-56 in Modern Warfare 2, such as the TAQ-V and TAQ-M. For instance, you can obtain the TAQ-V Battle Rifle at Level 11 and the TAQ-M Marksman Rifle at Level 20 (the maximum level of the TAQ-56.) It should be noted that weapon and rank levels are two different features of the game: a player’s rank can unlock a variety of items, and Weapon Progression focuses on the levels of a specific gun.

Now that you know how to unlock the TAQ-56 in Modern Warfare 2, you can increase your rank to obtain this powerful weapon. While you are here, you can explore more content about the game, including our guide about the Invasion game mode.
