Wondering how to save your game in Xenoblade Chronicles 3? We’ve got you covered on that front.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a huge game, and unless you’re planning on just spending a whole week playing it with no breaks, you’re going to need to save your game at some point. Disclaimer: we highly recommend against playing the game for a straight week with no breaks.
Saving Your Game in Xenoblade Chronicles 3
There are three ways to save your game in Xenoblade Chronicles 3: by using the auto-save feature, the quick save feature or good ol’ manual saves.
Auto-save will kick in pretty frequently as you’re playing the game, and your progress will be recorded whenever you enter new areas, or when you’ve reached a critical point in the story. When you load up your game again, you’ll have the option of loading the latest auto-saved file.
The quick save functionality can also come in pretty handy if you’re looking to explore different options in combat or in the story. To do this, press X to bring up the pause menu, then press Y to initiate the quick save. This can be helpful when you want to test out boss mechanics or new party setups, and you can load your quick save file speedily after experimenting.
Finally, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 also gives you three separate slots for manual saves. We definitely recommend using these whenever you’re about to quit the game for the day. Bring up the menu with X, choose System, then choose the Save option and select a slot. You’ll be able to save your game at rest spots and other checkpoints, and you can safely load up your files from the main menu when you boot it up again.
