343 Industries has just unveiled brand new information on how to get co-op in Halo Infinite for Halo Insiders. Alongside how to get prepared to play and when you’ll get to do it, this news also includes info on crossplay for the campaign as well. Here is everything you need to know.
The campaign co-op feature was originally supposed to drop at the start of Season 2 but was later delayed to build a “high-quality, full-featured four-player network co-op experience.” The ongoing season met with some backlash which further forced developers to make changes to the overall season, so it seems like a good decision to delay the campaign co-op.
That said 343 is all set to show the new feature off to Halo Insiders and has planned a sort of test run in for the week of July 11, which will also help them make required changes as per player feedback.
How to Get Co-op in Halo Infinite for Halo Insiders
If you want to get into Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op beta, you’ll need to join the Halo Insider program, which allows players to test upcoming Halo features and other game modes through hands-on playtest and provide valuable feedback.
Luckily, you don’t need to do much in order to sign up for this. All you need to do is visit the Halo Insider website and click the “Join Halo Insider” button. You will then be required to sign in through your Xbox account and select your Halo to playtest choices.
Make sure to select either “Console Flighting” or “PC Flighting” (or both), for the opportunity to experience the hands-on playtests. Those looking to check out the playtests on consoles will have to share what console, controller, display, and the audio system they will be using to play.
PC beta players, on the other hand, will have to share their hardware specs on the sign-up page. The page will have all the things mentioned so you don’t have to worry about missing a thing. The developers will randomly pick players for this to playtest based on a ton of criteria, so to improve your odds of being selected, make sure to keep your profile up to date and accurate.
Does Halo Infinite Have Co-op Crossplay?
In a recent interview, it was revealed that co-op crossplay will be fully supported in Halo Infinite. It was also noted that there will be differences in framerate and graphics quality, but that it won’t be game-breaking.
In terms of the different configurations that are supported 343 also stated that any combination of PCs and Xboxes up to 4 players are supported, as is playing over Xbox Cloud Gaming, and that all Co-Op games are hosted on dedicated servers.
