The good news here is that it’s not actually a bug you’ve encountered. You just need to have done something else before you can complete this part of Sorceress Sellen’s questline. Because Elden Ring is very vague in its quest steps and gameplay by design, many players have thought that not being able to place the Glintstone in Sellen’s new body is a bug.

How to Fix Sorceress Sellen Quest Bug in Elden Ring

To fix the Sorceress Sellen questline not progressing bug, you’ll need to beat Radahn and then continue to progress through Ranni’s questline until you reach the Eternal City of Nokron. Once you’ve done this, return to Sellen at the Waypoint Ruin Cellar and she’ll ask you to find her original body. This can then be found in the Witchbane Ruins underground. When you find it, you’ll get the Sellen’s Primal Glintstone.

With the Glintstone in your possession, head to Sellen’s other body at Ranni’s Rise and place it in here. That’s all you need to know to get past the progression block in Sorceress Sellen’s questline.
