Let’s get the big disclaimer out of the way first: you won’t unlock the costume change function until you’ve beaten the game for the first time. You’ll need to go through the entire story of Bayonetta 3 in Bayonetta’s default outfit for your first playthrough, but once you’ve rolled the credits, you’ll unlock the costume change function.
To change your outfit in the game, hop into any level, then press – to bring up the menu. Press L or R to tab over to your costumes, then choose the outfit you want to equip.

How to Get More Outfits in Bayonetta 3
You can only get more outfits in Bayonetta 3 by purchasing them from Rodin’s Shop with halos. You’ll find gramophones scattered around the levels as you’re playing, and you can use those to access his shop. You can also enter the shop from the Chapter Select screen by pressing -.
At Rodin’s Shop, select the option that says Rodin’s Treasures, then purchase the Super Mirrors for new outfits. They all cost 4,000 halos each, so make sure to save up for the ones you really want.
You can also purchase new color palette options from Rodin’s Shop for 1,000 halos each as well as individual t-shirts for Viola at 2,490 halos each.
