Bandai Namco’s free-to-play 6v6 FPS, Gundam Evolution, is now slated to receive a global launch and release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles alongside the previously announced PC version announced last year. Alongside all of this news that broke yesterday, we also received confirmation that a Gundam Evolution beta playtest was on the way, giving players a chance to try the game out before the full game launches sometime in the future. Here’s everything you need to know on how to play the Gundam Evolution beta.
Signing Up to the Gundam Evolution Beta
Currently, only PC players can sign up to the Gundam Evolution beta. This is done by heading over to the game’s Steam page, and selecting the ‘Request’ Access’ button, below the ‘Add to your wishlist’ button.
After clicking this button, you’ll receive a confirmation message and will be informed via email shortly after the March 28 registration deadline to let you know if you’ve been selected for the playtest.
There has been no word at the time of writing on when or how console players will be able to sign up to the Gundam Evolution playtest.
The official Twitter account for the game announced the PlayStation Game Hub was now live, but upon clicking on the link, we’re faced with an error message of ‘Not available for purchase.’
When Will the Gundam Evolution Playtest Take Place?
The playtest is currently scheduled for April 7-12 on PC, so if you’re successful on your request for access via Steam, you’ll want to clear your schedule for that week.
Test periods for Xbox and PlayStation consoles have not yet been announced at the time of writing.
The playtest will also only be open to players from Japan and North America, so those in Europe, South America, Australasia and other regions will unfortunately have to miss out for now.
