Gotham Knights has arrived, and while Batman is not the central focus, players will quickly find out that there are plenty of things to occupy their time. Like crafting the best suit, for instance. In this guide, we’ll break down how to get rare Earth metals in Gotham Knights and what it’s used for.

What Are Rare Earth Metals Used For?

While the clue is in the name, and Rare Earth Metals are, in fact, rare, they offer plenty of options for players when it comes to customization. Everywhere you turn in Gotham Knights, you’re finding material to use to craft different types of suits, weapons, and the like. Rare Earth metals are no different. From there, what you do with the resource is up to you.

Once you gather enough, players can use this resource to craft better suits, melee weapons, and ranged weapons. Typically, players will need to combine resources in order to craft items.

To use your various materials, you’ll want to open up the ‘Gear’ section of the Batcomputer menu and then tab over to ‘Crafting.’ Here, you can craft any new suits, melee or ranged weapons that you have the blueprint for.

Select the piece of gear you want to craft, and press and hold X (A on Xbox), to craft it. If you’re out and about around Gotham when you do this, the gear will go to the Belfry and you’ll have to end your patrol to equip it.

Where to Find Rare Earth Metals in Gotham Knights

Rare Earth Metals are well-guarded by members of the Mob faction, and can be obtained via crime-fighting, in guarded chests, and after defeating members of said faction. Amounts vary from crime to crime, and can depend on which types of faction members are present. When it comes to the Mob specifically, you’re going to want to be in Old Gotham if you want to get this resource.
