After much stress and consternation about whether Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl would get access to Arceus, or if it would somehow elude western players yet again, Nintendo finally confirmed a method for getting Arceus in the Sinnoh remakes. In this guide, we’ll go over how to get Arceus in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl so you can finally add the world’s most powerful Pokemon to your team.
Pokemon BDSP – How to Get Arceus
Now let’s get the bad news out of the way first. Just because there is a method for getting Arceus in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, doesn’t mean it will be easy or cheap. Unlike other legendary and mythical Pokemon that generally just ask you to get an item off Mystery Gift, go to a place and then get your teammate, Arceus is going to be a bit of a grind.
You’ll need to first purchase and beat Pokemon Legends Arceus for the Nintendo Switch with all of the main missions complete. You’ll also need to beat either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, be in the Hall of Fame, and have obtained your National Dex.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to find the Azure Flute in your room at your house in Twinleaf Town.
Take the Azure Flute to the top of Mt. Coronet at the Spear Pillar, and Arceus will be there and ready to do battle. Save before the fight and be ready to capture it!
That’s all you need to know for how to get and capture Arceus in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. For more on the Sinnoh remakes, check out our wiki guide and complete review.
