It’s safe to say House of the Dragon is starting off on the right foot, bringing in millions of unique viewers to George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones prequel series. For the uninitiated, House of the Dragon focuses solely on the political machinations of House Targaryen nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. For new fans and old, here’s what the House of the Dragon episode release schedule & dates will be.

House of the Dragon Release Schedule

House of the Dragon will consist of 10 episodes in its first season. HBO Max will release a single episode every week, with the first episode “The Heirs of the Dragon” released on Aug. 21, 2022. HBO has already greenlit a second season.

Each episode of House of the Dragon will be released at 9 p.m. EST every Sunday. It should be noted that this includes HBO Max and HBO’s television channel, so it doesn’t matter which platform you choose to view House of the Dragon.

House of the Dragon Episode Release Dates

Keeping that release schedule in mind, the remaining episodes of House of the Dragon will be release like so:

  • Episode 4, ‘King of the Narrow Sea’ – Sept. 11
  • Episode 5, ‘We Light the Way’ – Sept. 18
  • Episode 6, ‘The Princess and the Queen’ – Sept. 25
  • Episode 7, ‘Driftmark’ – Oct. 2
  • Episode 8, ‘The Lord of the Tides’ – Oct. 9
  • Episode 9, ‘The Green Council’ – Oct. 16
  • Episode 10, ‘The Black Queen’ – Oct. 23

Using the schedule above, that would put the final episode of season 1 for House of the Dragon a week before Halloween.
