While there are more spectacular ways to take out targets in Hitman 3, sometimes simply blowing them up with hidden explosives is more satisfying and easier to execute. So that you can pull off a sneaky kill, here’s everything you need to know about how to use remote explosives in Hitman 3.
First of all, you’ll need to actually get your hands on remote explosives. There are a few different forms they come in, with a rubber duck you can blow up being one of them, and they are unlocked in different ways. You’re also able to use explosives that just knock people out rather than killing them, and they’re used in the same way.
How to Use Remote Explosives in Hitman 3
You’ll find remote explosives lying around in most levels in Hitman 3. They’re not common, with more senior guards often being the ones that carry them, but keep looking and you should encounter them. Also, as you play through the game’s story and level up, you’ll unlock explosives to start levels with.
Once you’ve got some, use the left or right d-pad buttons to cycle through your inventory and press A if you’re on Xbox (X on PlayStation) to equip it. Now, there’s not actually a button in Hitman 3 for placing items. Instead, you need to drop it where you stand by pressing down on the d-pad when Agent 47 is holding it in his hands.
Then, you can walk away and will notice that the bald assassin now has a detonator in his hands. You can press up on the d-pad to put it away for use later, or press RT/R2 to detonate the remote explosive once you’re far enough away for it and the target is in range. Either wait it out or set it off and see the chaos it causes.
