Niantic’s latest smartphone game will be familiar to anybody who has played Pokemon GO. Harry Potter Wizards Unite uses the same AR technology to overlay computer graphics over the real world, and players are similarly tasked with trekking around their neighborhoods in search of things. As you might expect, this time it’s all about magic. Here’s everything you need to know about potions: how to get them, how to use them, and what they do.
How to Get Potions & How to Use Them in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
How You Get Them
Players receive potions for many different things in Wizards Unite. Most commonly, you’ll get them as a reward for daily assignments — simple tasks like returning 10 foundables, or dining at Inns a certain number of times.
Potions are often dolled out to players as rewards for leveling up in the game, too.
What They Do
Potions are useful for a variety of things, but most of the time you’ll be using them to either heal yourself in battles or to make your spells more powerful so that you can catch/return easily.
Some magical items are harder to catch than others, so they’ll require potions, especially while you’re lower level. You can choose them when catching them by pressing the option in the bottom right, and it’ll only show potions that can be used on that Foundable.
You can also craft them once you reach level 4.
How to Use Potions
To use a potion, press the suitcase option in the middle bottom of the screen, then select potions, then choose a cauldron.
You can then select which potion you want to craft using ingredients you’ve got from greenhouses or finding out in the world. It will then take a certain amount of time to craft but you can speed it up by using Gringotts, which can be purchased with real-world money.
